This weekend...

This was probably one of the most relaxing/stuffy nosed weekends I have had in a while. It was much needed...as were all of the tissues consumed because of said stuffy nose.

I did a lot of TV watching. This is a rarity. I never ever watch tv anymore. But thanks to ondemand, I have gotten into a few great shows.

First, I watched all the episodes of Pacific, a mini-series on HBO, of which I cannot watch enough. The history is captivating as is the bravery of the young American soldiers. There is more than enough action and gore for the boyfriend and eye-candy and romance for the girlfriend. I also love there is truth behind this series. From an educator's perspective, the miniseries would be a great resource (not to mention high-interest) when teaching about our relationship (or lack thereof) with Japan in WWII. The last episode is to air this evening. I desperately don't want this show to end and am thinking of postponing my watching it until tomorrow. I'm not sure what good that will do me, except for extend the length of it one more day.

Oh dearie me, I love those actors.

I also caught up on Jessica Simpson's new show, The Price of Beauty. And before you tell me how unintelligent and junky reality TV is, let me tell you first that this show has moved me to laughter and tears. The premise is that Jessica, along with her best buds, travel to different countries to discover what makes women beautiful. Jessica's message is nothing we haven't heard before: "beauty comes from within" but she travels, learns, helps (she teams up with Operation Smile) and meets women from various ethnicities and cultures. And let me just say that I love love love Jessica. She and I could be friends.

I saw Robin Hood. Russell Crowe is, in my opinion, a truly talented actor and played a great Robin Hood. I was entertained from the moment the movie began. As for a general opinion...the movie was good. Certainly not amazing and not an Oscar winning epic, but good. Once again, just my opinion.

My little sister went to her Junior prom! Who would have thought that the little baby I once held in my arms would be finishing this school year and moving on to the last year of her high-school life? I love that girl.

The LG used his brains and magic to replace my car's worn out brakes and routers (is that spelled right?) himself, saving me over $200, thankyouverymuch.

I also planted all three of my tomato plants, with high hopes that they will flourish and grow beautiful, round, juicy tomatoes.

And that, my friends, is how I spent my weekend! Wishing you all have a marvelous Monday!
