Home is where the heart is...

Great title to a wonderful book, a title that speaks the truth.

Tonight at exactly 9:40PM I entered my dark house. Turned on some lights and just looked around. I could not believe what I was hearing.

Silence.

No one called my name. No one greeted me with a spectacular kiss. No one smacked their lips, rubbed his hands together and asked me if I could make my brownies for dessert. No one begged to watch reruns of the corniest show on this planet, the OC.

It's really not as bad as I'm making it sound.

I drove the LG to the airport this evening, despised every second of it, since I hate good-byes. I'm not sure how the ladies with military men do it. Alone for so long. Longing for their companion to come home safely.

At the moment, the LG is flying through ashy clouds, across the Atlantic to Romania. He'll be away for 10 days. Not a lifetime. Not a year. Not even a month. Just 1 short week and 3 days.

And me? I'm just wondering...I'm sad he's gone for 10 days, how would I feel if he were gone for a year, safety compromised, nights filled with worry and conversations limited? I'm so grateful I have him around.
Much love to you, LG. Can't wait for you to come back to your 'hood.

P.S. Are you wondering what LG stands for?

My ever so clever boyfriend is a self proclaimed Love Guru. He declares that he knows everything there is to know about love. Finding it, showing it, and keeping it. (He also calls himself a Latin Lover. But that's just between me and you.)

I know what you're dying to ask, "Is he really a guru, Julia?" Well, I have stuck around for over 2 years. He must be doing something right. Hence, LG.

hahahaha, this was so funny! I thought LG stood for his initials :) Love Guru, wow, you must be soooo lucky, Julia! And I'm sure you're spending wonderful time with your friends, doing manicure and watching your favourite romantic movies when he's away. Take advantage of that. For example, my bf is also quite often away for work but for max 3-5 days. This allows me to dedicate fully to myself, my hair, my skin, my books etc. So I'm never bored or anything. Plus I've got Artu. You really should think about getting a puppy :)
