MIGRAINE .

It all began on Monday morning, at 6:15am, to be exact. At this time, I opened my eyes, slowly made my way to the bathroom, turned on the lights, looked in the mirror only to see bits and pieces of my face.
"@#$%!" I said.
But, I was in denial. As I showered, I kept closing one eye and then the other, thinking that my obscured vision was just a deception, it was just in my brain, and that, no I was not getting a migraine.
Anywhoo, I know myself well enough to link blind spots in my vision to an impending severe migraine. Sometimes this stage before the migraine, called the aura, consists of numbness in my hands or feet, speech impairments, and always blind spots in my vision.
This is scary.
But the migraine itself is scary too. I have to take prescription meds, which I hate to do, because aleve and tylenol just don't cut it. And my headache disappears and reappears for a few days after the initial aura. It makes me unbelievably tired.
It's Friday and I'm still feeling its effects.
What causes it? This..I don't know....could it be stress? preservatives in meat? aged cheese? bright lights? I still haven't discovered what causes my bizarre headaches.
Or perhaps it was because this week my school computer had a virus? Or that when it was re-imaged, I lost all of my important school documents? Or maybe it was the stress of my new grad class? Or having report cards due? Tutoring after school? Or meetings about the student who is making my life a living hell? Having no time to go grocery shopping? Uggh.
Let's just call it a week.
And I'm so thankful it's over.
And that was the most elderly-lady-ailment post ever written. ::sigh:: 26 is a rough age.
