Yesterday's Conversation at School

Jared (talking to me): Sam kicked me in the butt.

Me (trying to hide my smile): What??

Jared: Sam kicked me in the butt.

Me:  You are a second grader...he's only in first...come on! Let me call him over... 

(This probably isn't the typical teacher response.  But, hey, I'm not your typical teacher.)

Me: Sam, come here.

Sam: What?

Me: Do you have something you need to say to Jared??

Sam (looking directly at Jared): Sorry.

Me: For???

Sam : Jared, you're not wearing your glasses today.  I didn't think you could see me.

At Sam's honest response, I burst into laughter.  Apparently, in first grade kids think you are totally blind if you don't wear your glasses one day.  Hahahaha....Can you hear me???  I'm still laughing.
