1. Go see the Statue of Liberty.
2. Go to Astoria to get crepes (you know, a food that's only in my top 5)

So off we go to see the Statue. As you know, our trips are always such an adventure. Picking up our complimentary tickets was the easy part. Getting on the ferry and into the monument was the difficult part. We had to go through so many security checks like I have never been through before. You'd think going through security at the airport is tricky! Forget it! You've apparently never tried to see the Statue of Liberty. The high-tech machines they use to scan you are like out of a movie. Additionally, it seems as though the "ferry-people" were informed of our arrival and our last encounter during our previous NYC trip. Each time we got up to the ferry, they closed the line right in front of us. Now, we don't walk with a crowd; there's only two of us. So each time we caught the ferry, we had to watch the ferry pull away right in front of noses and then wait 20 minutes for the next one.
After the Statue adventure, we drove over to our final stop, Queens, to get me some crepes. And boy was it worth it! I had a crepe smothered with nutella, filled with bananas and strawberries, and topped with chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. A true fat-girl delight and the perfect ending to a fabulous day!
