...and a little bit of necessary venting.
At the movie theater apparently. Because naturally, you've brought those boogers right along with you. Maybe you thought they would sleep through the movie? Maybe you thought the huge screen and the loud noise would lull your child to sleep? Maybe you thought that we would all think your child was so cute as soon as he began to scream?
Seriously, folks. I like children. I work with them 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. But I suggest you leave your 1 year old at home when you decide to see a 10pm show.
Tonight at the movies, there were about 10 families who decided it was okay to bring their children under the age of 5 to a 10pm showing of Alice in Wonderland. Shouldn't youngsters be in bed at that time? Could that have been the reason behind their wailing, perhaps?
And don't get me started about the talkers. They stood in line excitedly waiting to get in, but didn't shut up until the final credits. And I'm not a shusher in public. But OH! Was I ever shushing those guys in my brain!
Arrghh. Where is the courtesy?
As far as the movie goes...

If nothing else, Alice in Wonderland absolutely was a delightful feast for the eyes. The 3-D effects were wonderful, and the cast of characters were quirky and magical. The story line was meh, in my opinion, but I still enjoyed it. I did fall asleep, unlike the children around me, but that's a very standard occurrence usually bearing no correlation with the quality of a movie.
Crying babies at 10pm and talkers aside, the movie was worth seeing especially because of the special effects. And also because it's in 3-D. So, hello, go see this in the theater already. It won't be as awesome on your flat screen in your living room.
P.S. Sorry for the negativity. I swear I'm not easily irritated.

i totally get your frustration- kids should be in bed at that time and not at the movies.
Saturday night at the movies is for adults.
I so agree with you! I hate screaming children, especially at the cinema. Here in Italy children seem to be so boisterous! More than in Poland, that's for sure! Thank you for the review of "Alice..." : ) That's very helpful! At least I know what I should expect!
I can't wait to go see this but would never drag our 1 year old there...period! It isn't appropriate for a baby and this baby is in bed by 6:30! People are seriously insane!!
i really loved all the color in alice in wonderland too! lovely blog!
