Day 'n Nite

The daytime consists of getting to school early, struggling to do my plans for the gazillion reading groups that I am teaching daily, responding exasperatingly to the incessant tapping on my back for attention, not having even a moment to breathe, staying at school late, and finally, making dinner to feed all the men.

Yes. ALL THE MEN.

Currently there is more than 1 man in my life. The LG is definitely the main one, but lately a few others have been hanging around the house.

The nighttime consists of getting that dinner ready, feeding the hot, hungry men who are working non-stop at my house (more on that later), cleaning up after dinner, helping with the endless construction, and then literally falling asleep in my clothes. Not even under the covers. I can't even make it that far.

So you thought the construction was over, huh? Yeah, so did I. Until I signed the papers, accepting an offer that was 4 grand above our asking price.

Sounds great, right?

Wrong. It's the opposite, because the offering price is no where near what our house is worth. Not even slightly. And the buyer is a first time home buyer with an FHA loan (I won't bore you with the specifics.) that requires a SERIOUS and detailed appraisal on our house. If our house appraises below the offered price, then she won't get the loan for the specified amount..blah blah blah.

So, we are working day 'n nite to get our house as close to her offering price as possible before the appraiser comes. We are tearing up the attic and making it into a fourth bedroom. Paint, heat, and carpeting all need to be done/installed by....get ready for this one... the end of this weekend. WTF?!

And so, the LG has his friends working on the house like whoa.

My part in the renovation is small; clean out the basement, make food for the men.

And with our fingers still crossed, (You didn't uncross yours, did you?) we're hoping that our house appraises.
