We were let out of school early today all because of an impending snow storm. Not even a flurry was in sight as the school buses drove away at 1:30PM. According to Sam Champion, the best looking weatherman there ever was ( Seriously, I would know. I've been crushing on him since I was 8.) we will have the blizzard of our lives, apparently.
The LG might be a guru, but Sam-he's a Champion.
"One inch per hour."
"State of Emergency!"
"Don't leave your homes.."
"...up to 2 feet..."
"EPIC snow totals..."
"Historic snow storm..."
Is this what the apocalypse is like?
Is it crazy to say that I kind of like it? Okay, no. I love it.
The LG and I are stuck inside. Snow is piling up. The sky is a beautiful light salmony color.
And the plans for my weekend are simple.
Tonight: movie and a glorious walk in the snow.
Tomorrow: movies and grad class work
Sunday: movies. grad class work, and perhaps the SuperBowl (I say perhaps because, really, I'm more about SuperBowl food than anything else. Is it painful to hear that I don't even know who is playing?)
Oh yes, did I mention my walk in the snow? Well, I'm mentioning it again. Although Winter happens to be my fourth favorite season, my favorite thing about winter is the silence of night snow.
I think it's just splendid.
Here's wishing I wake up to this...
