I'm a Fan (Friday)

I don't have a lot of time to watch t.v. Well, not if I'm at work. When there's a snow day, however, I'm cooking, napping, reading, and watching tv. So, I catch up on those days...which lately have been pretty often and I'm not complaining.

The threat of the "Beast of the East" closed school for today and what accumulated? Nothing. On the roads?? Nada. A perfectly good day to be at work. But ::sigh:: I have the lovely opportunity to do nothing at home.

Anywhoo, enough about the snow. I understand it's getting boring; I'm guilty of talking about it too much. So, onto the real meat of this post.

I'm a total fan of any tv show that showcases the beauty of a country...and it's food.

For instance, I'm an old fan of Samantha Brown, who travels her way across the globe. Her corny sense of humor is so relatable and addictive. Where ever she has traveled, she makes me want to go.

Just look at her! She could be my friend.

Oh yes, and then there's Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. He's another journalist traveling all over the planet. However, he, unlike Samantha, is more egotistical and sarcastic. I used to hate him. I hated his attitude, so pompous. But after a few episodes, I decided that I was just jealous. Of his job.

I kinda like you man. I kinda like you.

If I could eat my way across the world, and have my own tv show in which I travel anywhere I want, too, I think I'd also be a little smug. Just because I could.

And then, there's House Hunters International. What can I say? I just watch and dream. Did I ever tell you that my dream is to live abroad? I want to live in a city where I don't need a car, I walk or take public transportation to work, sit, relax and eat at an outdoor cafe for as long as I want, and stop by a pastry shop on my way home for some fresh dessert.

I want to go.
