You thought you couldn't teach your old dog new tricks, right?
And I know I'm probably reading your mind: you also can't teach a fish to eat from a spoon, right?
Well, throw those thoughts away, because I swear I just saw a pig flying through the sky.
I'm here to tell you that Yes, Obama, Yes We Can teach a fish some crazy tricks.
Let me elaborate, please:
I rolled up to my mom's house in North Carolina and out ran my sister, screaming for joy that her big sis came for a visit.
One of the first things out of her mouth??***
"You HAVE to meet Homberto!!!"
She ran up the steps, with me crawling behind, (a nine hour drive will do that to you) and into her room. Allie grabs a bowl and lifts it up...
"Tadaaaaa! Meet... Homberto."
A few pics with the new friend and Allie is off telling me all that Homberto can do.
"Oh, he's sooo stinkin' cute!!! He swims around all day and guess what? He can eat from a spoon."
(Homberto is a fish.)
Not only did I not believe that, I also did not expect Allie to grab the spoon near his bowl and begin to feed the fish.
Homberto flew out of the water, and NO LIE, grabbed the food on the spoon. He dipped back down and then flew up again for seconds. Like magic.
It was soo unbelievable that I had to try it for myself. And sure enough:
Homberto, the fish, eats from a freaking spoon.
Now that's what I call talent.
***Please note that my sister is a perfectly "sane" 17 year old young lady. Pretty much, she's just like me.

wow, thats crazy the fish can do that! did you get a video by any chance?
I just saw that in your summer reading list the main one is i am the messenger by marcus zusak. He was my english teacher in highschool, its so weird seeing his book all over the internets :)
My cats drink from a glass. Sounds sane to me. HA!
Can you believe even though he was my teacher i have never read any of his books!
when he was teaching at my school he was only known for The Underdog so although we all knew he was famous {and the cutest teacher on staff} we didnt really pay that much attention.
I wish i could share some amazing wisdom with you from him but there was nothing that spectacular, he wasnt around very long, i think it was about a term. But he made English class fun. Really fun. He was always smiling his adorable smile and caused quite alot of crushes :)
he lives pretty close to me, if you ever come to sydney i promise we can go and stalk him out :)
