Movin' on out...

THIS
is my new purchase!!

I got it today at a store that buys second hand things and fixes them up.  So, I probably spent a little more than I should have for something old..buuuut it was this or a bookcase from ikea.  And we all know ikea...it'll take an hour to get there (at least for me), cost mega gas money (since I'd be taking a truck), and then take me...er, the LG... 3 hours to put the thing together.  This one cost less and I'll have it tomorrow!

I have a vision, my friends. I'm picturing black and white with pops of color, a little modern, a little shabby, and a lot funky.  The piece above will probably end up in my dining room with some funky things in it.  I need to find some dinner plates...I'm looking for something plain, maybe white, and then adding some color with bowls/serving platters.  I prefer not to be all matchy-matchy.  Know what I mean?

Anywhoo, (I just love that word.  That's why I rock it in like, every post.) did I tell you that the reason for my purchases is because I am moving?? It's the truth. Unfortunate difficulties with the roommate have motivated me to do something about my current living situation.

Our rehab house is for sale (still!) and could sell next week, next month, or next year. So, since I am already paying for it (and I love it!), I thought, why not just move in??  When we sell, I'll move again, whoopdiedoo.  Besides, I'm finding that every time I move, I end up purging a lot of unnecessary items. And THAT feels good.

Today I was looking through my things and found notes from friends...from middle school!!  I desperately wanted to throw them away, but then a little voice entered into my brain that said, "Ummm..Julia, you might need that, like 10 years from now, when you have kids and they want to know what you were like at their age. You can whip these out and show 'em how undeniably cool you were."  What to do, what to do??

And soooo, I am off to purge what I can, again.  I have some college text books, still. (I graduated 4 years ago.)  Does one keep college text books?? Do people invite friends over, have intellectual discussions, and then whip out out-dated text books to prove their points?  I think so. That's why I'm keeping mine.  :P

I think all my college books are in a box in the attic. So...I am excited to hear you decided to move on. I am loving the lil' china cabinet. Where did you get it?? Mill Property??

I only recently threw out all of my college textbooks. I even moved them from my parent's house to our house when we got married. I had to get rid of them when the baby stuff needed to take over the storage space too.
