A kid in my class has dropped a pencil on the floor and has left it there long enough for me to watch other kids stepping on it or over it (if they’re lucky) but never bend down to pick it up. Never.
I march over to it, stand an inch away, point to it and say in a loud teacher voice, annunciating clearly, “Boys and girls, look at this pencil lying on the floor. Just because you didn’t drop it, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pick it up! Now, who is going to pick this pencil up off the ground? Hmm??” (Meanwhile, I have bent over, am still pointing at the writing utensil, but now, my pointer finger is approximately 2 millimeters away from it.) Yet, I don’t pick it up, even though I haven’t dropped it either. I wait for some other stinker to come pick it up instead. Oh, the irony.

I always say I'm too big to bend down that low. Depending on how small they are it sometimes works...sometimes.
Haha. Hilarious. Thanks for visiting my site!
