Gone are the days of dessert immediately after EVERY meal (yes, this includes breakfast). Gone are the days of watching the Love Guru rub his hands together and say in his “little boy” voice, “Ummm, some dessert maybe??” Gone are the days of eating an extra hearty breakfast only to crawl back into bed for a nice long nap. GONE! (Just for two weeks, then I’ll have to force myself back into eating again.) But for now, I’m not eating. At all.
Actually, that’s a lie.
I went to Trader Joe’s a few days ago and stocked up on some food. I’m going to attempt to eat less and to put healthier things into my body, for as the saying goes, “You are what you eat.” I have noticed that I don’t always eat veggies for every meal. And I’d like to, so this week, I started making salads for lunch. Now, I’m not really the type of girl who has cravings for some salad, but let me tell you, the salad that I’ve been making all week is de-lish! It’s just romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes, pea shoots (sprouts), red currants, almonds, and crumbled up goat cheese. Not only is it very colorful, but it’s so tasty with some balsamic vinaigrette.
Here’s a pic of my creation (which actually was inspired by my friend Sara’s healthy salads):
And.....drum roll, please.....I have taken my vitamins for 2 days in a row! TWO days! This is nothing less than an accomplishment. Seriously. In my life, I have always struggled with the dreaded vitamin. The repulsive smell. The nasty after-taste. The massive size. The fluorescent pee. Ugh. Oh, the Flinstones chewable brand, you ask?? Tried it. Hate it. Can’t stand it. But remember, I’m trying to be healthy lately, so I’m taking those horse pills like it’s my job!
And I’m going back to the gym! But not today. Tomorrow. Really. I’m starting tomorrow. So when the love guru comes back, I’ll be on my way to losing some flab and looking fab. I’m sure it will be much appreciated!

OK, you should check out vitacost.com next time you need vitamins. They have a really fun selection of vitamin powders, tablets, drink mixes and much more.
