Let me preface the rest of this story by letting you know that, growing up, my mom was always the type of person who would write Christmas cards to our family and friends, then seal and stamp them. I would watch this process and then I would watch the letter just sit on our kitchen counter until after Christmas. Sometime right before Christmas, she would look down at the sealed letter, sigh, and proclaim, "I'm just going to call [insert name of family member]."
So, the letters were never actually sent. Me, on the otherhand, I love to write. I enjoy sending notes to friends to let them know how much they mean to me, so getting this surprise from my mom, was really...how can I say this without sounding sappy??...heartwarming. Writing is a way for me to express myself and when someone does the same for me, it means so much.
So, my mom sends this cute card, which simply says that she misses me and sends her congrats on my new house. So simple, yet, so meaningful. I love it.
