My Winter Vacation...

is still in session. Until tomorrow, that is. ::sigh:: For those of you just tuning in, I'm a teacher. Being a teacher has many benefits... summer vacation, seeing my students develop an appreciation for fashion at such a young age, (I strive to set a good example...see below) snow days, and winter vacation. Yes, I enjoy my job...especially on the days that I have off. I'm very appreciative.
Anywhoo, I have had a very eventful winter break, parts of which I will share with you, whether you care or not. My break began with a move to a new townhouse that I purchased... (fist pumping in air..whoot whoot) and then immediately we had our first guest. (Yes, WE. The LG and I are now officially living in sin.) The LG, if you don't know, is from Romania. His dear mother came to celebrate the holidays with us.
Lots and lots of food has been consumed over the past week as his mom has been dominating my kitchen...and I'm not complaining. Except for the fact that I may have gained 8 pounds since her arrival. Authentic Romanian food has been served, with me standing over her back, watching, and scribing every beat of her whisk. When she leaves, I will try to replicate her cooking for the LG.

We celebrated Christmas Eve with a visit to the Romanian Orthodox Church, ate dinner in our new home with friends, and then went caroling. (It's a European tradition.)

Presents were opened promptly after caroling, at 2 am. And the LG, ahem...Santa, left a beautiful profesh Nikon under the tree for moi. And that's when the film started to roll... I have plenty of pics with which you all will be showered.

Following the present exchange, our time was spent in isolation. Me, with the camera. The LG with his new toy, the X-BOX 360. BTW: Oh dear Santa, whatever have you done with my sweet boy? X-BOX is officially my nemesis.
I spent Christmas Day with my fam and supahstah sistah in NJ. Truth: I pretty much ate the table. (But shush. I wasn't going to tell you that.)

The day after Christmas, the four of us, the LG, his mom, my sis, and moi went to NYC. It poured so hard that, after standing in the TKTs line for 2 hours, my feet were pruny. And my hair was plastered to my face. We clearly picked the best day to go. The highlight of the evening...seeing Mamma Mia! It was a FABULOUS show.

These are just some highlights from a fabulous vacay. Why must I go back to work tomorrow? Tonight calls for a nice tall glass of red wine before bedtime. Otherwise, I won't sleep a wink.

Hope you all had a fantastic break!

I take it that you don't like the X-box, because you can't play it, or Florian won't let you touch it..ha ha..........
