"shun" as in "t-i-o-n"

While teaching my class the "tion" ending, we began to make a list of words where the "shun" sound is heard.  We were coming up with some wonderful vocabulary such as 'hesitation' and 'dictionary' and then my little Faith raises her hand.  Very wise for her young age, I have no doubt that Faith has some intelligent word to add to our list.  When I call on her, she quickly blurts out her word, "FAIRY!" I try to hide my smile, but when I catch her eye, I know that she realizes her mistake- the word 'fairy' definitely does not end in 'tion.' Then, both Faith and I begin to laugh like lunatics.  And for some strange reason, the rest of the class looks at the both of us, like nothing out of the ordinary has just happened.
