You decide.
Option 1: my weight.
Today I went to the Doctor and was asked to "Step on the scale, dear." As nice as the nurse may have sounded, those words are forever and always mortifying. To make matters worse, my doctor's office weighs people in pubilc-near the waiting area.
As I take those three steps to the scale my emotions are heightened. I feel excited; I've been working out and eating great, ya know...I might discover that I dropped a few pounds! I feel nervous; I don't own a scale and I know that sometimes even the Biggest Loser's gain a few. I feel loopy so I crack some jokes to cover my anxiety: "Can I strip here? My glittery kicks are a tad heavy. I think it's the glitter that weighs them down."
Much to my dismay, the lady means business. I step on the scale and she may or may not have moved the weight thingy a little too far to the right. An essay of fowl words may or may not have run through my brain. Thankfully, only a joke may have managed to escape:
"Could you measure my height, please? I think I may have grown taller since June."
Truth is, I have been consistently working out. Strength training and I are like sisters: ones that get along. My pants are looser and if you count my boobs, I almost have a six-pack going on. My eating habits are healthier and I feel great. The number that I saw on the scale may have shocked me. It may have caused me to think how I got from 110lbs on a 5'5" frame to 127. MAY. It also may have caused me to be so troubled by it that I felt like posting it on this almost abandoned blog. The key word here is: MAY.
Or, you might choose Option 2: This fancy schmancy jacket from Ann Taylor.

I have been romanticizing over this jacket for a few months. I tried it on and did not wish to spend over $200 on a jacket that doesn't qualify as "outerwear." It's just a glorified cardigan if you ask me. But, as it is Cyber Monday (who coined that phrase, by the way??) EVERYTHING at Ann Taylor is 40% off. Yippee skippyy! And so, this jacket may or may not cost $127. And I may or may not be going to the mall to try it on again to convince myself that it's okay to be selfish around the holidays.
And so, it's up to you to decide.
127.
What'll it be?
Hint: If I were you, I'd guess the jacket....it's for your own good. ;)
